Dr. Muin Husain, President of the CAARU, has been working with GENIVER as a Director for the Environmental Division.GENIVAR with close to 5000 employees and a revenue stream close to a billion dollar, is one of the largest Engineering Firms in Canada and is listed in the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSE) as GNV.

As part of his assignments, Dr. Husain is working both in Canada and Internationally in Engineering Projects. Among his International Projects are Water and Waste Water Master Plan for the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and the Water Resource Master Plan for The Republic of Surinam.
Recently Dr. Husain travelled to Bangladesh to do a market asssment as GENIVAR has been retained by the Government of Bangladesh to help with the renovation of Sheraton Hotel in Dhaka. During his trip he has met major Business Corporations in Dhaka in order to expand GENIVAR experise in Bangladesh. Recently Dr. Husain was interviewed by the GENIVAR Magazine to recognize the very important role in plays within the Organization. Here is the story....

Why Genivar?
“I have a PhD in Hydrogeology from the University of Waterloo. I used to work for the University and the Ministry of the Environment of Ontario (MOE) prior to beginning the consulting industry. Through work, I got introduced to MacViro (later acquired by Genivar in 2006). I joined MacViro in January 2002. I’ve worked as a Business Unit Leader for the Environment Group and I’m currently working as a Director.”

“I have been involved with the Environment Industry for the last 20 years and have gained valuable experience in multidisciplinary engineering projects. Part of that experience involves technical expertise as well as public and regulatory consultation, and working for the public and private sector. Through these experiences, I try to understand the dynamics of the industry and use this to develop business through strategic plans.”
Other Environmental Contributions
Practicing member of the Association of Professional Geoscientist of Ontario (APGO) and was the interim Chair of the Brownfield Committee of the Association of the Professional Geo scientists of Ontario (APGO), and is currently serving as a member for their Environmental Committee. In addition, Muin is a member of the International Association of Hydro geologists (IAH), American Water Works Association (AWWA). Muin was also the Environmental Manager of the 16th Avenue Trunk Sewer Project, which received the Consulting Engineers of Ontario (CEO) Award for the best Environmental Project in 2008.
